Number 7 is a code that is used to find out if the hairdresser guy is gay. If you say I'll take a Number 7 and he responds,';We'll have to make an appointment for that kind of cut';, it means he wants to set up a private date with you. But if you say I'll take a Number 7 and he responds, ';We don't do that kind of cut here';, then you can get out of it without being too embarrassed in front of everyone by saying something like, ';Oh, that's okay. I didn't really want my hair that short on the sides anyway.';
